Kirsten and John

Derring Estate at Cutler was the perfect location for their destination (non-destination -we’ll explain in a moment) wedding. This grand location was also absolutely delicious to shoot not only HD but 16mm film, which we did! Kirsten wanted a wedding that wasn’t quite traditional. While living in Ohio, the couple chose the gorgeous location for an exciting destination wedding for all the family and friends to attend. Randomly enough, months before the wedding, John’s career moved him to none other than Ft. Myers, making their destination wedding a little closer to home! How random, right? Family and friends were certainly in for a treat with the weather being nothing less than incredible! You can say the wedding day is in all the little details and Kirsten and John did a fabulous job with making each detail full of meaning – from Columbus, Ohio’s famous Jenni’s Ice Cream being served to guests, to the symbolic flowers (White Veronica in remembrance of my maternal grandmother, Veronica, Rosemary in remembrance of John’s mother, and Fern honoring my paternal grandmother, Irene Ferne) everything was very sentimental and special. We were touched by the newlyweds in their love for each other as well as for family and friends.

Nicole and Paul

Graphic designer Nicole put all her creativity and heart into the look and feel of her and Paul’s wedding day! She chose the timeless, yet modern colors light purple, sage green, ivory, and gray to compliment her Velveteen Rabbit theme. The couple chose to write love letters, and, during the ceremony, placed them in a wine box to be opened at a later time. The newlyweds chose to do a ring-warming ceremony too! What’s that, you say?!? As a way for each guest to give a silent prayer/blessing for Nicole and Paul’s marriage, the rings were passed guest to guest before finally making their way to the bride and groom! Terribly sweet and a great alternative to the sand ceremony or unity candle! Nicole being very hands-on made just about everything – from the invitations and printed materials to the Captain America Boutonniere that Paul wore during the reception. What a fun day with so many clever ideas! Yay for the new husband and wife, XOXO!

Punk Rock Wedding

Turn up that music ’cause this wedding is total rock n’roll!!! Ok so this was not a real wedding but still… this shoot ROCKS! Last summer, Jeff from K&K Photography, Lauren from Every Last Detail and Amanda and Matt from MMD Events put their creative heads together and came up with the idea of this amazing Punk Rock Wedding inspiration shoot. We loved the idea and thought this would be perfect for a sexy blend of Super 8mm film and HD cinema! Every wild detail came together to form a tasty mixture of edgy and alternative goodness!

Elizabeth and David // The Don Cesar // with 16mm film

Everything about Liz and David is colorful! Their vibrant personalities are simply contagious and being around the lovely couple we couldn’t help but have fun! We were excited to share in the rehearsal dinner where it was quite apparent that Liz and David have the same effect on their friends and family. Listening to the many toasts to the couple, we gained such an appreciation for how much their friends and family truly mean to them – and how much the newlyweds mean to each other. How funny that the day was one of the windiest of the year, but sort of fitting as this wedding day was nothing short of unique and loads of energy – just like Liz and David. We know you’ll have fun watching this film with the fun bright colors, awesome dancers, tender words, and most of all the really cool couple – and we are pretty sure you’ll want to dance around and be merry for the rest of the day!
